Loren Murray is my mom and an ER nurse who got Covid.

Bronx, New York | Frontline

Loren Murray is my mom. She is an emergency room nurse in the biggest and busiest ER in the Bronx, NY.  Everyday she goes to work to deal with sickness and death like we have never seen.

For the first time in her life she has had to support 'Facetime' for the family members of her patients so they can say goodbye.

When she got COVID she had to return to work three days later because of the shortage of nurses.

While she was sick she sent me and my sister to live with our grandfather so that we didn't get sick too. Every day she got up and went to work only to comes home to an empty house. This lasted for eight weeks but it seemed like month.

My mom works nights and drives over an hour each way just to do her job. She tells us she is OK but everyday when we talked on Skype she looks like she is crying. I wish there was more I could do for the woman who does everything for everyone else.
